Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Grandma made Ingrid a new "Read Across America" tshirt for Dr. Seuss' birthday and reading day at Santan Elementary.  It paired nicely with a skirt I made earlier and Ingrid's Doc Marten boots.  And those tights!!!  She loves posing for pictures and I love taking pictures.  We make a great team!!!

Grandpa's Birthday plus Two Months

We celebrated Grandpa's birthday tonight at home with a cake and presents.  It was so much fun to celebrate in person.  The girls each made a present for grandpa.  He got a kick out of the duct tape bookmark.  But I think he really liked the Ronald Reagan museum t-shirt and museum book.

First Communion Breakfast

After Ingrid's first communion we decided to go out to breakfast at The Egg on Chandler Heights and Alma School.  Knowing we were going to eat out, I packed another dress for Ingrid in order to protect her silk dress and shawl from any potential spills.  Ingrid changed in the car in the parking lot at church.

At the restaurant we waited patiently for seating for eight.  The coffee and water station kept everyone hydrated and I was able to take some fun pictures with the grandparents.  One of the pictures was so cute, my mom decided to use it for her profile pic on FB.

Grandparents and Dress Clothes

Before heading out to Ingrid's first communion, I had the opportunity to take a few pictures of the kids and their grandparents.  I love these photos so much!  My beautiful kids and my beautiful parents.  Such a glorious day!   Praise be to God!!

Ingrid's First Communion

Ingrid had her first communion today at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chandler.  It was a nice small affair with the young communioners served first before the rest of the church.  I was so happy that Grandma and Grandpa came for the event and Ingrid was happy, too.  The class made their own challis' at As You Wish Pottery and they were displayed on the altar for the service.  The second graders took their first communion out of their cups.  What a sweet idea.

Ingrid looked so fantastic in her dress.  The dress is made of silk and was Morgan's when she was 4 1/2 years old for her adoption hearing.  Ingrid is smaller.  I searched for a dress that would be appropriate.  When Ingrid pointed out the dress in the closet, I initially said no, it wouldn't fit.  But Ingrid insisted and I'm so glad she did.  She looks fabulous.
